Frequently Asked Questions...
What’s up with the new website?
Wait, you all haven't changed the Message Board, have you?
What’s the difference between my ACC
Website login and my ACC Message Board login?
If I'm an ACC Member, will my Member status show up on the ACC Message Board (in that special blue font)?
I'm already a member of the Arkansas Canoe Club, so how do I login to the ACC Website?
How do I change from Household Membership (Single Login/Single Profile) to Household Membership (Multiple Login/Multiple Profiles)?
Wait, I've been a member of the Arkansas Canoe Club since back when we still were using animal hides to build our boats...why does it say I've only been a member since Nov 2009!?
- We upgraded our
software to a new Membership Management and Web Hosting Service so that
we could better manage our growing membership, as well as provide
better technology tools for our volunteers who manage our events
throughout the year. We'll be slowly adding and updating content to the
new site over the coming weeks and months...we hope you'll take time to
look around and enjoy our new site!
- No, never fear! The Message Board is not changing! If you already use the ACC Message Board, you will continue to use your same user name and password. Our new website software includes a Forum utility, but it will be used ONLY as an ACC Member Forum for internal club business and club communication only. The only change to our public ACC Message Board is that the Member-Only Forum will be removed.
- The ACC Website login is for ACC Members. This new software service
will allow us to manage our growing membership more efficiently by moving all
membership management functions online. Members of the Arkansas Canoe Club can
login to the ACC Website to update their member information and preferences, to
renew their membership, to register for events, and to access Member-Only sections of the website.
- The ACC Message Board login is NOT restricted
to ACC Members: we welcome any member of the general public to use the ACC Message Board as long as they agree
to our terms of use and follow our message board guidelines. Unfortunately, we
could not easily combine our Member database with our Message Board User
database, so ACC Members will need to continue to use a different/separate login
for the Message Board.
- Maybe, maybe not. Because the ACC Website and ACC Message Board use separate software platforms, recognizing users on the Message Board as Members is a manual, time-consuming process. We have added a spot for Members to indicate what their Message Board user name is on their Member profile, and we might continue to try to recognize Members on the Message Board, but because we cannot automate this process, we can't make any guarantees! We plan to try it for a bit longer to see if we can make it work. We agree it's a nice feature, but we just may not be able to support it.
- All current ACC members (any whose membership was paid through November 2009) were automatically added into our new online Member database, and you were sent an email with instructions about how to login and check your profile on the new site. If you have NOT received the email instructions, you should 1) check your junk email folder to make sure any emails from the Arkansas Canoe Club are not being flagged as spam; 2) if you still cannot locate your instructions, then please email the Membership Chair so that we can send you new instructions.
- If you are a CURRENT Arkansas Canoe Club member, your default membership level was set as a Household Membership (Single Login/Single Profile). If you would like to CHANGE to a Household Membership (Multiple Login/Multiple Profile) so that you can add other household members with their own email address, please email the Membership Chair and simply ask for your membership level to be changed. Read more about the different membership levels here.
- Unfortunately, we never kept "member since" data on our members, so every existing member is just going to show as being a member since Nov 2009 which is when we moved the database into the new software. Going forward, NEW members will have their actual "member since" date preserved. Old-timers: as consolation, you'll just have to impress us around the campfire with your stories of running Richland in a 17 ft Grumman (in flood, when it was 20 degrees outside, and you used mules to run shuttle).
