Refund Policy
Neither registration to this school nor actual enrollment may be transferred to another person. No substitutes are allowed and refunds are limited. All enrollments are contingent upon completion of on-line registration, timely receipt of a properly signed ACA waiver, and timely receipt of payment of all fees.
Limited, partial refunds of the $85 course fee may be allowed within certain time limits. The American Canoe Association event fee of $5 is non-refundable.
If you withdraw from the Whitewater School with good reason before the application period closes, we may refund seventy-five percent of the course fee only. The application period typically ends at 5:00 PM on the Friday three weeks or more before school starts. Kayak classes usually close even earlier, due to the enrollment demand. If you withdraw with good reason, after the application period ends and before 5:00 PM on the Friday one week before school starts, we may refund twenty-five percent of the course fee.
If you do not notify the school director, within these time limits, of your wish to withdraw and present an acceptable reason for the withdrawal, you will not receive a refund. Denial of a special request is not cause for a refund. Likewise, failure to show up for the school is not cause for a refund.
Weather Policy
In the event that bad weather occurs that results in high river levels and dangerous water conditions, or other unforeseen events beyond the Arkansas Canoe Club’s control, the school will still be held. Classes will continue at alternate sites which may include flatwater and will be determined by the School Director.
Since the school will be held regardless of hot, cold, rain or shine, be sure to come prepared for a variety of weather temperatures and conditions!
