School of Whitewater Paddling

Registration opens March 1, 2017


Basic Information

The ACC School of Whitewater Paddling is an opportunity to learn how to enjoy whitewater, to build skills and knowledge, and to have fun. Most everything you need to know about the school can be found in the following pages.

When:  May 5-7, 2017

Where:  The Mulberry River, based at Turner Bend

Turner Bend is a private campground open to school participants, instructors, and volunteers. The campground is located near Cass, Arkansas on Highway 23, approximately 11 miles south of Highway 16, and 13 miles north of I-40 at exit 35/Ozark. 

Cost:  You must be a current member of the Arkansas Canoe Club before you can register for the School of Whitewater Paddling. ACC Household Membership (covers all your immediate family living in your household) costs $25 per year (multi-year memberships are also available). If you have multiple members of your immediate family covered by a Household Membership applying for the school, only one ACC membership is required. We also offer a Junior/Student membership for those under 25 years old. If you are not already a member of the ACC, please visit the Membership section of our website.

The course fee for the School of Whitewater Paddling is $90, which includes a $5 American Canoe Association event fee.

If you are a current American Canoe Association (ACA) member and can show your ACA membership card at check-in, then you are eligible for a $5 coupon good toward the Saturday night fish fry OR Sunday morning pancake breakfast. Minimum Age

Participants must be a minimum of 12 years old to enroll in paddling classes.  Participants must be 14 years old to enroll in the Swift Water Rescue class.
